About the role
Main Objective:
To work with the Knee & Hip Arthroscopy Engineering department to gain experience in research, design, testing, and development of medical devices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the engineering team by attending verification testing, ensuring test protocols were followed and attend validation labs to gain a better understanding of anatomy and Arthrex products.
- Attend training sessions, symposiums, departmental meetings etc. as required.
- Utilize SolidWorks for drawing creation and prototyping/modeling.
- Effectively works with peers, project team members, and other departments in new product development, product line extensions, and product enhancements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or biomedical engineering, or a recent graduate. Junior or above required. *(Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)*
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
Ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing and possess the ability to work through technical issues.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
- Knowledge of surgical equipment/instrumentation, and mechanical testing equipment.
- PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
- Experience with CAD (SolidWorks) required.
