Engineering Intern - Seasonal

The City of Centerville has an exciting internship opportunity in the Engineering Department at Public Works! The Engineering Intern will become actively involved in construction management activities, inspection, traffic pattern/signal work, office administration, utility mapping and inventory, and other functions within the Engineering Division at Public Works. Responsible students pursuing an Engineering degree should apply.

The intern will work a flexible schedule (up to 40 hours/week). Job Responsibilities: Assists the City’s Engineering and Inspection staff with various engineering projects throughout the City. Updating storm basin inventory database and corresponding field inspections.

Traffic sign and traffic signal inventory and database maintenance. Inspection of street repair and resurfacing projects. Preferred Qualifications: Enrolled in a four-year engineering program with concentration in Civil Engineering/ Engineering or closely related field.

Highly organized with good time management skills. Self-motivated with the desire to learn in a hands-on environment. Demonstrates written communication, and documentation skills in order to clearly convey status updates, technical issues, design alternatives, etc.

Experience with Microsoft Office suite and AUTOCAD software is strongly desired, as duties include mapping updates and related assignments. Job Details Category Internships Status Open
