Environmental Compliance Intern

Job Summary

Environmental Compliance Intern DEV Operations Support | Dominion Energy The Environmental Compliance Intern will support Dominion Energy Virginia (DEV) Operations Support in promoting environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance across electric generation, transmission, distribution, renewable energy, and other operations facilities. This position provides hands-on exposure to environmental compliance programs, regulatory requirements, and operational practices that help ensure Dominion Energy meets its environmental commitments and maintains excellence in environmental performance.

Working closely with environmental professionals and operations personnel, the intern will assist with compliance initiatives involving air quality, water quality, stormwater management, hazardous materials, waste management, spill prevention, environmental audits, inspections, and our Environmental Management System. The intern will gain practical experience reviewing environmental data, supporting compliance assessments, interpreting regulatory requirements, preparing reports, maintaining documentation, and helping develop tools and resources that support environmental programs throughout Dominion Energy Virginia portfolio.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Key Responsibilities

• Support environmental compliance and operational excellence programs across DEV facilities and projects.
• Assist with environmental audits, self-assessments, inspections, and corrective action tracking.
• Help review environmental permits, compliance plans, and regulatory requirements.
• Collect, organize, and analyze environmental information and compliance data.
• Support development of environmental procedures, guidance documents, training materials, and communication tools.
• Assist with environmental reporting and documentation management.
• Participate in field visits and site assessments to observe environmental compliance activities.
• Collaborate with environmental, operations, engineering, safety, and project teams on environmental initiatives.
• Research emerging environmental regulations and industry best practices.

Education Requirements

Must be a student enrolled at a 4 year college or university majoring in Enviromental Science or a related field.

Must have an anticipated graduation date in Spring 2028 or later.

Must have a 2.5 GPA or higher.
