Qualified applicants will assist project teams in managing EH&S programs on construction projects. P r eferred candidates should be pursuing a degree in environmental health and safety management or a closely related field of study. A s s ignments include office and job site; relocation to a remote site may be required.

Tr a nsportation is required. Wo r k periods are 10-12 weeks; 40 hours/week. Ho u sing may be provided in certain situations.

Job Description

R e porting Relationship: Interns will report to a EH&S Manager. T a sks Assigned: You will be learning the environmental health and safety management aspects of the construction project in the field. Your experience will include some or all the following: A s s ist in safety onboarding and safety meeting processes.

As s ist in performing regular job site inspections to identify, document and recommend mitigation of hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions and verify correction actions s have been completed. As s ist in evaluating various planning/permits such as: Hot Work, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Excavation, Steel Erection, Energized Work, Pre-cast Tilt-Up as examples for effective and appropriate mitigation techniques. As s ist in incident investigations to include interviews, data compilation, photographs and completing proper documentation.

W o r king Conditions W o r k is conducted in both indoor office settings, and outdoor constructions jobsite settings requiring sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Wo r k hours will be determined at the Project or work assignment basis. No i se level varies based on location.

Oc c asional lifting of up to 40 lbs. Oc c asionally will climb stairs, ladders, etc. Ab i lity to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to, steel toed boots, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.) T e c hnical Capabilities Y o u should be familiar with the following software: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Exchange, etc.
