At Wevision, Equity Analysts Intern perform deep fundamental or quantitative research to generate actionable, high-conviction investment ideas and trading strategies. They blend data-driven insights with financial modeling to forecast asset prices, requiring advanced proficiency in Python/VBA, strong technical skills, and a fast-paced, proactive approach to monitoring market trends.
Key Responsibilities & Job Functions
- Fundamental Research: Develop deep knowledge of specific sectors, build financial models, and analyze industry trends to identify investment opportunities.
- Actionable Insights: Convert research into actionable trade ideas and, in some roles, directly manage portfolio risk and sizing.
- Data Utilization: Leverage large, alternative datasets to create unique signals and enhance investment models.
- Collaboration: Work closely with portfolio managers, traders, and quantitative researchers to refine investment hypotheses.
- Monitoring Markets: Track global equity, commodity, or macro markets to identify dislocations.
Typical Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree (with a high GPA, often >3.8) in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, SQL, and/or VBA for data manipulation and analysis.
- Experience: Prior experience in equity research, investment banking, or data analytics is highly valued.
- Attributes: Strong analytical capabilities, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred.
