Potelco, Inc. is seeking an Estimating Intern to join our team for Summer 2027 . Our 8–10 week Estimating Internship is designed for students studying Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering who are interested in gaining hands‑on experience in the preconstruction side of infrastructure projects.
Under the guidance of experienced Estimators and Project Managers, interns will learn how construction projects are evaluated, priced, and prepared for successful execution. This internship provides exposure to large-scale transmission, distribution, substation, and utility infrastructure projects that support power delivery across the Pacific Northwest. By the end of the 8-10 week program, you'll have gained: Exposure to the utility construction and energy infrastructure industry.
Experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and engineering plans. Hands‑on involvement with quantity takeoffs and cost estimating. Understanding how labor, equipment, and material costs are calculated for construction projects.
Experience collaborating with estimating, engineering, and operations teams. Insight into how projects move from concept and bid to construction execution.
