Position Summary
The Extra Help Program Coordinator for Commuter and Off-Campus Life (COCL) support the coordination, supervision, and execution of departmental events/tabling as well as the operations of the Commuter Student Resource Center. This position assists in ensuring that all aspects of event/activity operations including logistics, support, communication, and customer service run smoothly, compliant, and efficiently. This is a temporary role within COCL.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides leadership in the administration of the Commuter Student Resource Center including space policies, coffee program evaluation, and supervision of the Commuter Assistants to staff the CSRC.
- Implement new programs for target populations including transfer students, adult learner students, and graduate and professional students in alignment with student affairs curricular approach.
- Maintain existing programs while evaluating successes in alignment with office goals. Some examples include COCL Open House, Commuter Connect, and Transfer Connect.
- Coordinate the recruitment, selection, and training of student staff in Spring 2027 for the following academic year.
- Coordinate and facilitate logistics for events and tabling, determining the staffing needs while supervising events.
- Lead in the planning and coordination of the Off Campus Housing Month and East and West Campus Fair, managing an allocated budget for this initiative.
- Support with the monthly newsletter going out to various commuter populations including graduate + professional students.
- Act as point of contact with campus, agency and university departments and represents COCL/ the Interim Director on committees.
- Some evening and weekend events may be required for student training, enrollment management events, and other programming.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
