JOB SUMMARY:
The Cybersecurity Engineering Intern will support the engineering team by assisting with technical documentation, requirements gathering, process development, and the maintenance of security standards, procedures, and related artifacts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with the creation, maintenance, and organization of cybersecurity engineering documentation, standards, procedures, diagrams, and knowledge articles
- Support requirements gathering activities by documenting business, technical, and security requirements for projects and initiatives.
- Assist with the deployment, configuration, testing, and validation of cybersecurity tools and technologies under the direction of senior engineers.
- Maintain project documentation, action items, implementation records, and status updates.
- Perform basic research and analysis to support security engineering projects, technology evaluations, and process improvements.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of reports, metrics, and dashboards related to cybersecurity initiatives.
- Support the review and documentation of security processes, workflows, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, IT, and business stakeholders to collect information and support project deliverables.
- Help track and document issues, risks, and remediation activities associated with engineering projects.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of the cybersecurity engineering function.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution.
- Must be actively pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Must have at least 1 year of academic undergraduate studies completed or a sophomore status at minimum.
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and documentation quality.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, technologies, and industry best practices.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and collaboration tools (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Ability to organize information, gather requirements, and support project-related activities.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
