Description

Morgan Corp. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to support our finance and accounting initiatives during the summer. The intern will gain hands-on experience working with our finance professionals in a construction and industrial environment, learning the ins and outs of daily financial operations in a construction company. This internship is designed for college students pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or a related field, or those with an interest in the construction industry. Our internship program provides a realistic view of what it is like to work in the construction industry through meaningful, hands-on experiences.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily office-based at our corporate location in Duncan, SC. Occasional visits to job sites may occur to gain exposure to field operations and project management. Site visits require walking on uneven surfaces and wearing appropriate PPE.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with coding invoices for accounts payable and financial reporting
  • Support accounts payable and payroll compliance activities
  • Assist the project accounting team in creating and executing change orders and purchase orders
  • Participate in weekly department meetings discussing daily activities and strategic goals
  • Assist with data collection, recordkeeping, and financial metrics tracking
  • Assist with processing expense reimbursements and communicating with operations teams
  • Collaborate with project teams to promote a culture of financial discipline

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a degree in:
  • Finance
  • Accounting
  • Data Analytics
  • Completed at least one year of coursework preferred
  • Strong interest in financial and accounting regulations and management
  • Basic knowledge of construction accounting standards is a plus
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work in field and jobsite environments
