The Department of Surgery at the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine is seeking to hire a financial analyst. The selected candidate will utilize critical decision-making skills, demonstrate excellent communication and relationship building skills, implement superior organizational skills and business application technical skills to support divisions within the department. Qualified candidates will use these skills to, with the guidance of supervisors, monitor, analyze and report on financial data. Responsibilities include day-to-day administration of specialized activities and reporting to management, providing recommendations and advice to management or other groups on process-related topics, and conducting or carrying out work procedures and activities in accordance with local, state, federal, and university regulations.

Essential Functions

• Monitor and interpret financial data in the development of cost analysis and reports.
• Prepare financial/statistical analysis reports.
• Perform budget analysis and assist in the development of budgetary forecasts.
• Prepare and assist in budget-related statistical analysis, estimates and financial reports.
• Assist in the development and input of financial transactions into university systems.

Required Education

• Bachelor’s Degree must be in accounting or related field.

Required Experience

• Related finance or accounting experience.
