You can learn about our benefitshere*:* <https://humanresources.baltimorecity.gov/hr-divisions/benefits> Job Summary As a community aide in the Fleet Management Division, you will have the unique opportunity to work alongside highly skilled Automotive Mechanics and Automotive Maintenance Workers.

This hands-on experience will provide valuable training in vehicle safety inspections, installations, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of fleet vehicles, including: Essential Functions Assist Automotive Mechanics with maintenance and repair work on fleet vehicles Perform vehicle safety checks under supervision Support in the installation of automotive components Learn and apply fundamental automotive repair techniques Maintain a clean and organized work environment Minimum

Qualifications Experience: One (1) year of experience in cleaning, custodial work. OR Equivalency Notes: Have an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of the tools, materials, techniques and equipment of four of the five following areas: painting, carpentry, masonry, plumbing or electrical trades.

Knowledge of cleaning materials and methods. Ability to perform minor painting and carpentry duties. Strong customer service and communication skills.

Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Ability to follow instructions. Ability read gauges and monitor furnace Additional Information Background Check Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint screening, and must be successfully completed.
