POSITION SUMMARY
Placement: Flint Community Schools - Administration Building
Hours: 30 hours per week
Compensation: $15.00hr, non-exempt, no benefits
The College Student Assistant is an employee of Edustaff and performs various duties for the assigned department.
All applicants will have to apply and pass the Edustaff screening process to be placed.
If a placement offer is made, the employment relationship will be considered an "at will" employment relationship with Edustaff, not the District. There will be no contractual relationship or promise made concerning your worksite placement at the District.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Current college enrollment required. Preference will be given to current college students with a minimum of 60 completed college credits
- College transcripts will be required.
Experience:
- Prefer at leas one year of experience using computers in a professional setting.
- Microsoft Office experience
- Prefer data entry experience
- Prefer prior experience working in an office
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions (note this is not an exhaustive list of the duties performed for this position):
- Performs general office duties such as filing (including digital online filing), keyboarding, record keeping, and operating office machines.
- Assists with maintaining and auditing Title I inventory.
- Schedules and arranges shipments; unpacks and sorts deliveries; and verifies final invoices.
- Catalogues and inventories all received items while maintaining databse.
- Maintains various departmental records and spreadsheets.
- Attends all required staff meetings and debrief sessions.
- Assists in community outreach events including set-up, clean-up, and break-down.
- Serves as office Receptionist as needed including answering phones and providing excellent customer service.
- Delivers materials to schools and non-public school partners.
- Represents the District and Edutaff in a professional manner by performing all job functions at a satisfactory or above level.
- Interacts with staff, administration, students, parents, and the community in a positive, supportive, and cooperative ways.
- Performs other related duties, including special projects, as required or requested, consistent with reasonable expectations for the contracted position.
PHYSICAL AND COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS

- Frequently receive, understand, and communicate information necessary to carry out lesson plans, supervise students, and respond to the school personnel.
- Remain in a stationary position and move throughout classrooms, hallways, and other school areas for varying periods of time.
- Occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, climb stairs, and lift or move materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, depending on the assignment.
- Maintain attention and situational awareness sufficient to respond appropriately to student needs and emergency procedures.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a school environment and may involve moderate to high noise levels, frequent interaction with students and staff, changing assignments, and exposure to typical classroom and school conditions. The employee is responsible for supporting student safety and maintaining appropriate supervision throughout the assignment.
