About the role

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) offers unpaid, laboratory-based internships beginning in the summer, with the potential for extension into the fall term depending on intern availability, the particular project and organizational needs. These opportunities are primarily for students pursuing 'hard science' degrees, such as biology, chemistry, biochemistry, physics or forensic science. Participants gain hands-on exposure to diverse forensic disciplines such as Toxicology, Firearms, Latent Prints, and DNA analysis while working between 8 and 40 hours per week at one of our four laboratories, which are located in Denver, Greeley, Pueblo or Grand Junction.

The program emphasizes professional development through flexible scheduling and opportunities to observe various laboratory exams, though it does not include crime scene investigation.
