About the role

Summary:

The GIS Intern supports the Information Technology team by assisting with technical support, system administration, business applications, projects, and other technology initiatives. This role provides hands-on experience working with technology solutions and supporting internal users while developing technical, analytical, and professional skills. The intern will work closely with team members across various IT functions and gain exposure to multiple areas of technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to end users by assisting with technology-related questions, issues, and requests.
  • Assist with the support, maintenance, and improvement of business applications, systems, and processes.
  • Help research, analyze, and document technology solutions and business requirements.
  • Create and maintain user guides, training materials, and process documentation.
  • Participate in IT projects and support project-related tasks and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with IT team members and business partners to identify and resolve issues.
  • Assist with data collection, reporting, testing, and system validation activities.
  • Learn and follow IT policies, procedures, and security practices.
  • Build positive working relationships with users and provide excellent customer service.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Business Technology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with business applications, databases, reporting tools, or technical support processes preferred.
  • Basic understanding of computer systems, software applications, and technology concepts.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
