Grant Researcher Intern

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Grant Researcher Intern to assist our team in identifying, researching, and tracking grant opportunities to support our programs and initiatives. This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in nonprofit work, pre and post award grant management and writing, and community impact.

Responsibilities:

• Research Grant Opportunities: Use grant search engines to identify potential grant funding sources from foundations, corporations, and government entities that align with our mission to serve young girls of color
• Prepare Research Reports: Compile and organize data on funding opportunities, deadlines, eligibility requirements, and application guidelines.
• Track Grant Deadlines: Help maintain a calendar of grant application deadlines and provide reminders for upcoming submissions.
• Support Proposal Preparation: Assist in preparing documents and materials needed for grant applications.
• Organizational Support: Provide administrative support for the development and implementation of grant applications, including collecting and updating necessary documentation, and proofreading materials.
• Engage with Program Staff: Collaborate with program leaders and other team members to understand current needs and identify potential funding priorities.

Work Schedule:

Flexible work hours to accommodate academic schedules. The normal Girls Inc. of Worcester workday is between 9 am-6 pm.

Qualifications:

• Strong interest in nonprofit work, social justice, and empowering young girls of color.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Good research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather, assess, and present information clearly.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with grant research databases is a plus (e.g., GrantProHub, GrantStation, Grants.gov, instrumental).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• A passion for learning and contributing to the success of a growing, community-focused organization.
