GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERN Title: Graphic Design Intern Reports To: Senior Graphic Designer Classification: 10-15 Hours Per Week Duration: October 2026– May 2027 (flexible) Location: Hybrid Pay Rate : $20/hour

- Work with Senior Graphic Designer on developing visual solutions for various projects from print to digital

Opportunities include, but are not limited to:
- Develops concepts and visual solutions for a variety of creative projects, including brochures and publications, print and digital ads, direct mail, emails, signage, invitations, infographics, and other communication materials
- Helps research and develop season visual identity
- Gain experience in Adobe programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, etc.
- Help manage and develop institutional graphic assets including the brand book
- Opportunity to present your work in front of stakeholders including leadership, staff, and colleagues
This position is a good fit for someone who:
- Is interested in gaining graphic design experience in a professional setting.
- Junior/senior pursuing a BA or BFA degree in Graphic Design or related fields. Recent graduates are also welcome to apply.
- Demonstrates a commitment to equity and inclusion.
- Knowledge of design principles, color theory, typography and layout.
- Experience in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
- Motion graphic skills are a plus.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Good organizational skills.

Minnesota Opera is willing to teach:
- Presentation and internal communication skills.
- Opera as an artform and associated Minnesota Opera products, including subscriptions, single tickets, related events, and ancillaries.
- Industry-specific marketing and communications skills and existing procedures for design requests, art delivery, scheduling, promotions, and data management.
- Policies and procedures specific to Minnesota Opera.
Please note:
The applicant will be expected to either reside within commuting distance of the Opera Center or be willing to relocate prior to beginning work to participate in a hybrid work environment (three days a week onsite).
