Description

This internship is designed for college students pursuing a degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field, or those with an interest in the construction industry. Our internship program provides a realistic view of what it is like to work in the construction industry through meaningful, hands-on experiences. Ideal intern candidates:

Work Environment:

Work is performed outside in all types of environmental conditions. This position performs strenuous physical activity for long periods under varying and adverse field conditions. This position must be able to lift, carry, stand, walk on uneven surfaces, manually manipulate, grasp, reach out above the shoulder, climb, kneel, bend, twist, and push/pull.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with jobsite safety inspections and audits
  • Support environmental compliance efforts, including documentation and reporting
  • Help develop and distribute safety communications, toolbox talks, and training materials
  • Participate in incident investigations and help track corrective actions
  • Assist with data collection, recordkeeping, and HSE metrics tracking
  • Observe and support the implementation of OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards
  • Collaborate with project teams to promote a strong safety culture

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a degree in:
  • Occupational Safety & Health
  • Environmental Health & Safety
  • Environmental Science
  • Industrial Safety
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations is a plus
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work in field and jobsite environments
