About the role
Position: Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) for the College of Social Sciences & Education Position Overview: The College of Social Sciences & Education (SSE) is seeking Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) applicants. SSE is seeking qualified students for grading positions as Instructional Student Assistant for courses that are appropriate in our curriculum in any given semester. Students need to apply each semester.
Faculty recommendations are welcomed. Anticipated Appointment Dates: This position is open until it is filled. If you have applied and no other positions are available, you will be notified.
Fall 2026: August 17, 2026 – December 19, 2026 Spring 2027: January 20, 2027 – May 26, 2027 Hours: 0-20 hours per week. Job
Duties may include the following, but will be dependent upon the specific course to which the instructional student assistant will be assigned, as well as upon the specific needs of the faculty member in charge of the course: Provide instructional support to assigned instructors in SSE by grading papers in a variety of courses, proctoring exams, or facilitating group work and discussions. Assist the instructor in lab/activity sessions, proctoring, and/or perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair in consultation with an appropriate faculty member. Demonstrated commitment to fostering a welcoming learning environment. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum GPA 3.0 Solid writing and speaking skills. Solid study skills and time management skills.
