During your internship, you will contribute to:
- Provide administrative support to the labour relations team on day-to-day collective agreement interpretation issues.
- Administer the grievance record tracker for all bargaining units, track grievance replies ensure grievance files are up to date, schedule and support grievance hearings.
- Manage overtime reconciliation, advise business on the overtime guidelines for day-to-day offer and methods for reducing liability related to overtime.
- Conduct weekly review of overtime reports and lead audit meeting with leaders and directors to ensure overtime lists are updated and aligned with risk mitigation practices.
- Gather information and data from HR databases for reporting purposes to produce and retrieve various labour relations reports on a weekly basis and as assigned.
- Contribute to labour relations process improvement initiatives and projects as required.
- Participate in human resources and labour relations team meetings.
How to thrive in this role?
- You are currently completing a bachelor’s degree in human resources, industrial relations, labour relations, human rights, law or equivalent degree in a recognized university.
- You have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- You possess strong interpersonal and written communication skills, coupled with a high level of professionalism.
- You are flexible, take initiative, and a strong team player.
- You work well under pressure and can work autonomously.
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can meet multiple deadlines and multi-task while maintaining accuracy.
- You are organized, have keen attention to detail, and excellent process administration skills.
