About the role

Summary:

The Land Intern role supports land and government affairs projects by organizing records, conducting research, and helping manage land leases and environmental documentation. It involves working with teams across legal, environmental, and operations to support projects related to land use, water rights, and regulatory compliance. The position also assists with data tracking, reporting, and communication with government agencies while gaining hands-on experience in agriculture, environmental policy, and land management.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in researching and organizing documentation related to water rights, land ownership, and environmental permits.
  • Support the management of agriculture land leases, including tracking terms, renewals, and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in environmental and land use projects, including data collection, mapping, and reporting.
  • Help maintain and update internal databases and records related to land and government affairs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including legal, environmental, and operations to support project goals.
  • Attend meetings with local, state, or federal agencies as appropriate and assist in preparing materials or summaries.
  • Conduct policy and regulatory research to support land and environmental initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Agronomy, Ag Business, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Geography, Law, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with GIS or database tools is a plus.
  • Interest in Agriculture, land use, environmental policy, and government affairs.
  • Familiarity with land records, water rights, or environmental permitting processes.
  • Experience working with public agencies or regulatory bodies a plus.
  • Basic understanding of lease agreements or property management.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred.
