Intern - Power Generation Engineering (Virginia City Hybrid Center)

Dominion Energy Virginia is seeking a highly motivated Power Station Intern to support operations and maintenance activities at our generation facility (Virginia City Hybrid Center) located in St. Paul ,VA. This internship provides students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a power generation environment while working alongside experienced professionals across multiple functional areas.

The intern will assist teams in areas such as Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Environmental, Safety, Electrical, Mechanical, and Technical Services. Responsibilities may include supporting equipment inspections, collecting and analyzing operational data, assisting with project research, participating in process improvement initiatives, and contributing to station reliability and performance efforts.

Working under the guidance of station personnel, the intern will develop an understanding of power generation processes, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The intern will observe and participate in day-to-day plant activities, attend team meetings, and support projects that contribute to the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the station.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

• Must be enrolled in a 4-year college program from an accreditted instituion
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to learn and apply engineering concepts in a power generation environment.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn.

Education Requirements

Education Level: Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution with an expected graduation date in 2028 or 2029.

Preferences in Discipline: Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering

Must have a 2.5 GPA or above.
