Job Description College Intern – Revenue Administration Start building your career while gaining hands-on experience in public-sector finance, grants, and program administration! As a College Intern supporting OCTA’s Revenue Administration, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to the department’s day-to-day activities, recurring processes, and special projects. This position offers exposure to grant administration, financial reconciliations, compliance activities, program analysis, reporting, and project tracking while helping you develop valuable analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
OCTA's College Intern Program is a year-round paid student/intern program. You will gain real-world work experience on meaningful projects under the guidance of experienced transportation professionals. You will have opportunities to strengthen your problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills while benefiting from mentorship, career development, and internal networking.
The pay range is $20.00 – $23.00 per hour, depending on education level. This position is not eligible for employee benefits. The work schedule will consist of approximately 20 hours per week, not to exceed 1,000 hours within a continuous 12-month period.
This posting will remain open until a candidate is selected. What You’ll Do Assist with grant administration and ongoing departmental projects. Support recurring financial and program reconciliations.
Assist with compliance audits and related documentation. Compile, organize, and analyze financial and program data. Develop and maintain spreadsheets, tracking tools, and reports.
Assist with program analysis and research assignments. Prepare presentations, memos, reports, and other business materials. Support project tracking and monitor activities, deadlines, and deliverables.
Collaborate with staff on daily, monthly, and quarterly departmental processes and special projects. What We’re Looking For Currently enrolled full-time as a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior at a four-year college or university and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public administration, economics, or a related field. Strong analytical, research, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with financial and program information. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet established deadlines. A collaborative, dependable, and motivated individual with an interest in learning about public-sector finance, grants, compliance, and program administration.
