Work you'll do

As a Meeting and Event Services Associate Intern on the Marketplace Event Planning team, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting planners with venue and vendor sourcing, kickoff calls, sourcing decks, and meeting financial forecasts
  • Processing deposits and invoices in Summit and assisting with meeting setup, planner assignments, and event record maintenance
  • Training to support smaller, less complex meetings independently and accompanying planners onsite for event execution experience
  • Managing the MES group mailbox and helping route inquiries and communications appropriately
  • Supporting managers and lead planners with job aids, organization charts, brand materials, and special team initiatives

The team

At Deloitte, Meeting & Event Services (MES) is the team of event professionals in planning and registration that provide strategic end-to-end solutions for all Deloitte meeting and event needs. The Marketplace Event planning team within MES is focused on planning, managing and delivering events with a primarily local audience throughout the country (i.e. holiday events, retirement parties, marketing and client facing events, tradeshows, internal trainings or culture building events, etc.) Our team members work collaboratively and apply their specialized knowledge and skills to think proactively to provide a holistic customer-centric "experience" for our Deloitte professionals, clients, and guests attending events.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate's degree in progress at a City University of New York (CUNY) school with a minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Ability to travel 0-10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment.

Preferred:

  • Pursuing a Hospitality Management major
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook

This compensation range is specific to New York and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $23 per hour.
