Unpaid Internship for Academic Credit Type: Unpaid Internship for Academic Credit Division: Public Health | Marketing Reports to: Program Coordinator Location: Remote Purpose: Assuaged Foundation, Inc., seeks individuals who will work closely with our team and other respected partners to assist with charitable projects involving community health and chronic disease prevention that will fluctuate in timeframe and scale. The purpose of this PH internship is not only to help improve the health of the disabled, military, elderly, and ambulatory populations, but also to provide the intern with valuable knowledge and experiences that will contribute to their educational and career ambitions. Core Responsibilities: - Collaborate with team members - Assist in the planning and participation of educational webinars and meetings - Develop instructive materials and assist with health education modules - Participate in outreach events and build relationships with external partners - Research chronic disease states and gathers up-to-date data to assist with community health assessments Considered Skills: - Established professional with Bachelor’s Master’s or Doctorate’s degree in any career that relates to the needs of Assuaged, Inc. - Student working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nutrition, public health, health education, epidemiology, or a related field with a minimum of 3.0 GPA - Basic knowledge of health promotion and/or public health - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Self-motivation and the ability to work under minimal supervision - Works effectively, independently and as part of a team - Creativity in brainstorming and problem-solving - Experience using Microsoft Office Suite - Comprehension of health promotion theories is a plus, but is not required Notice: The internship description in no way states or suggests that these are the only responsibilities to be performed by the person occupying this position.
