The Group Hospitality is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Culinary Operations & Documentation Intern to work alongside our Corporate Chef and culinary team at our upcoming new concept.
This three-month paid internship offers hands-on exposure to the behind-the-scenes development of a restaurant concept, from recipes and culinary standards to the systems used to communicate and maintain them.
The intern will play an important role in capturing, organizing, and maintaining culinary information while gaining firsthand exposure to recipe development, tastings, kitchen operations, and the processes involved in bringing culinary standards to life.
What You'll Do
- Document and accurately transcribe recipes, preparation methods, chef notes, and culinary standards.
- Attend culinary meetings, tastings, and working sessions and capture clear, organized notes and action items.
- Enter and maintain recipes and culinary information within spreadsheets and web-based systems.
- Organize recipe files and supporting culinary documentation.
- Track recipe changes and revisions and help ensure records remain current and accurate.
- Work with chefs to clarify missing or incomplete information.
- Assist with organizing culinary materials and information during restaurant development and opening activities.
- Gain exposure to recipe development, menu testing, culinary operations, and restaurant-opening processes.
- Provide general documentation and administrative support to the Corporate Chef as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Current student, recent graduate, or early-career candidate interested in culinary arts, hospitality, restaurant operations, food studies, or a related field.
- Fast and accurate typing skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working with spreadsheets, shared documents, and web-based applications.
- Strong written communication and note-taking skills.
- Ability to organize information clearly and consistently.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant and kitchen environment.
- Restaurant, culinary, or hospitality experience is a plus, but not required.
- Curious, dependable, and eager to learn.
What You'll Gain
During the internship, you'll gain practical exposure to how a growing restaurant organization develops, documents, and communicates its culinary standards. You'll work directly with experienced culinary leaders and develop experience in recipe documentation, culinary systems, restaurant operations, and new restaurant development.
