We are looking for Specialists and Team Members to join us in crafting a wide variety of vehicles from the Mercedes-Maybach GLS SUV to our all-electric electric vehicle, the EQS SUV and EQE SUV. Our Tuscaloosa County site is home to the production of Mercedes’ luxury SUV models, including electric vehicles. Just down the road in Bibb County, MBUSI has launched the production of high-performance lithium-ion batteries. Our two campuses are among the most advanced automotive manufacturing facilities in the world, with over 6 million square feet combined.

Essential Functions:
- Analyze production processes and manufacturing performance
- Investigate and support resolution of production-related challenges
- Assist with process optimization and continuous improvement projects
- Conduct root cause analysis and problem-solving activities
- Support workstation and ergonomic improvements
- Evaluate KPIs and production performance metrics
- Apply lean manufacturing principles in daily operations
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Logistics, Maintenance, and Planning teams
- Participate in cross-functional engineering projects
- Gain exposure to shopfloor management and automotive assembly systems
Other regular tasks:
- Participate in daily production and shopfloor meetings
- Support KPI tracking and performance analysis
- Conduct process observations and problem-solving activities
- Assist with continuous improvement and process optimization projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues
- Prepare reports, presentations, and project documentation
- Support implementation and follow-up of corrective actions
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or in a related area, and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of industrial or mechanical engineering principles
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement concepts
- Knowledge of root cause analysis and structured problem-solving methods
- Ability to interpret and analyze production KPIs and operational data
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Basic project management and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Interest in automotive manufacturing and production systems
- Self-motivated with a hands-on approach to learning and problem solving
- Strong attention to detail and process orientation Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement projects
- Experience in student engineering projects, Formula SAE, robotics, or manufacturing-related activities
- Basic understanding of automotive systems and vehicle assembly processe

- Paid internship - hourly rate $18
- Coverage of visa costs
- $700 housing bonus
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in University or in a gap year between Bachelor's and Master's degree
- Studies outside of the U.S.A (we are not accepting applications from students who are currently studying in the U.S.A)
- A minimum of 3 semesters of studies in relevant field of study
- Available for a minimum of 6 months
