About the role

The Majority Staff of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee are seeking full- or part-time interns for the spring semester. Interns will gain firsthand experience with the legislative process and the Committee’s work on financial services, housing, banking, capital markets, national security, and economic policy.

Responsibilities include processing constituent correspondence, tracking legislation and policy developments, observing hearings, briefings, and markups, and conducting legislative and policy research. Candidates should have strong research and writing skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Previous Hill experience or ties to South Carolina are strongly preferred but not required.

This is a paid internship, and applicants should be available from December through May. The application deadline is November 1, 2026, and applicants should submit (1) resume and (1) cover letter.
