About the job

Internships

Guggenheim Entertainment’s Professional Internship Program provides a training ground for early career professionals to bridge the gap between education and the professional world. It provides hands-on experience working alongside professionals in a specific, concentrated area. The program is designed to provide a season of intensive education and work experience in one of several aspects of theatre operation.

Our department heads are all willing to take on interns offering hands-on experience, exposure to real-world experiences in a chosen field of study, and a great time working with people who love their jobs.

Guggenheim Entertainment welcomes you to experience and learn as part of our Performing Arts family.

Eligibility and Requirements

The Internship Program is intended for applicants of college age or older. Exceptional high school seniors entering college will be considered for certain internships. Professional internships are unpaid, though college credit can be arranged. Participants must have residence and transportation.

Benefits

Guggenheim Entertainment gives back by offering a calendar of optional enrichment activities. The Young Artists Residency is the cornerstone of our enrichment program. All interns are invited to attend round-table discussions, scheduled with members of our artistic and administrative staff, allowing interns the opportunity to gain insight into the many possible avenues of career development in professional theatre. Additional enrichment opportunities may include attendance at:

  • Staff meetings and rehearsals
  • Design presentations
  • Invited dress rehearsals

Complimentary tickets for each San Jose Playhouse production during residency.
