About the role:

At Boston Scientific, our agile approach and winning spirit mean that we will treat you as an individual, recognizing that your aspirations and goals are personal to you. We are passionate about Information Technology, its impact across the organization, its ability to improve lives through technology, and its role in the future of healthcare.

Our IT interns contribute to projects that reflect the diversity of IT at Boston Scientific. The IT organization values your experiences and ideas, provides opportunities to contribute from day one, and offers real-world experience in a positive setting that supports your professional growth. As an IT Analyst Intern, you will join an IT team with a defined outcome and contribute to meaningful technology and business challenges during the seven-month program.

Future full-time employment opportunities, including the TLDP rotational program, may be considered based on performance, program requirements, and business needs. Internship participation does not guarantee future employment or placement in the rotational program.

Work Mode:

This role follows a hybrid work model: three days per week at the Global Hub, American Free Zone, Costa Rica office, one remote workday, and one study day, with the study day selected as a free day.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Join an IT team with a defined outcome to achieve during the seven-month internship program.
  • Apply business analysis, user experience, data analysis, data visualization, project management, and product management skills to real business challenges.
  • Complete a group project with fellow IT interns focused on solving a real problem for Boston Scientific employees.
  • Contribute to work in Artificial Intelligence, Data, and Digital Products to create solutions that connect Boston Scientific, patients, and health care providers.
  • Develop Process Automation solutions that streamline repetitive processes and save time and resources.
  • Support cybersecurity initiatives such as product security controls repositories and workflow automation tools.
  • Create reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools and data analytics to visualize and connect data for business partners.
  • Map and analyze business processes to identify inefficiencies, clarify workflows, and support improvements that save time and enhance operational outcomes.
  • Partner with functional teams such as Supply Chain, Finance, Human Resources, Research and Development, Sales, Operations, and Quality to deliver high-priority business outcomes.
  • Participate in the intern experience, which may include executive panels, team-building events, training, volunteering, flexible hours, employee resource groups, team sports on campus, gym access, and global partnerships within Boston Scientific.

Examples of internship projects and development opportunities:

  • Use Process Automation to improve manual processes, including examples such as reducing a 90-minute process to 30 minutes.
  • Create Asset Management solutions using Microsoft O365 tools to move from paper-based to digital management.
  • Improve and digitize critical incident processes to reduce response time and enhance collaboration.
  • Build a Product Security Controls Request Repository and Workflow Automation Tool for a Cybersecurity team.
  • Be considered for a full-time position in the two-year rotational program, designed to develop future IT leaders who use agile, lean-startup, user experience, and product-based practices to deliver digital solutions to business problems.

Required qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Analytics, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Remain actively enrolled as a student throughout the entire internship program.
  • Expected graduation no later than May 2028.
  • English proficiency of B2+ or higher.
