About the job

The Legal Internship Program is designed to maximize law students’ involvement with the criminal justice system in Camden County. Our Office affords the ideal learning environment, characterized by teamwork and collegiality in the pursuit of justice. Legal interns will find dedicated, supportive, and knowledgeable supervisors to make their experience both valuable and enjoyable.

The program offers substantial opportunities for court observation, court appearances, and interaction with judges, attorneys, and law enforcement. Legal interns rotate through a number of units within the Office to ensure a varied and well-rounded experience. Students are encouraged to apply for our internship through On-Campus Interviews (OCI,) if possible.

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office participates in OCI during August for Rising 2Ls and during February for 1Ls at Rutgers-Camden, Drexel, Widener-Delaware Law, Temple, Villanova, and Penn. Law students who are interested in legal internships and do not attend one of the listed law schools or are applying outside of the OCI periods should email a cover letter and resume to the contact listed below. In New Jersey, students who have completed their second year of law school are permitted to appear before a trial court.

Legal Interns must have completed Professional Responsibility, Evidence, and Criminal Procedure (I or Investigations – the semester of the course that covers the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution) prior to starting the internship in order
