- Have a personal relationship with Jesus – Why do you Believe in Jesus? What is the gospel? How can someone have a personal relationship with Jesus? Trout staff members should have personal ownership in their relationship with Christ and be open to share that with kids when they ask.
- Believe in the Bible – Trout staff members believe the Bible and it's teachings to be true and point kids to the central truths of scripture.
- Hard workers -- people who are respectful, responsible, and fun
- All-In, Trout staff members view their job as their mission rather than just a job
- Lean Forward – Staff members have "can-do", "how can I help?" type of attitudes. When they see problems, they take initiative to fix them themselves
- Love Kids – From the Kitchen, to Housekeeping staff to Lifeguards, we look for people who have a heart for kids, young and old
- Trout staff members don't Take themselves too seriously – They understand the value of humor and know how to always make the best out of a bad situation.
Cabin Leaders live with their assigned campers (same gender) for a week of camp. Program and Support Staff live in dorm-styled cabins with 3-14 other summer staff also by gender.
The impact of the Trout summer staff experience is best when you commit to most of the summer.
Many positions require in-depth training at Staff Training at the end of May & early June AND a commitment to work at least 8 camp weeks.
We offer a $250 bonus to any summer staff that works at least 8 camp weeks, attends staff training in early June, and maintains their commitment to dates. The bonus is typically paid on August 31st.
However, we do hire short-term summer staff in some positions (Cabin Leading, Housekeeping, & Kitchen to name a few), but the minimum commitment is at least ONE full camp week (Sunday – Saturday)
Staff Training: May 31st - June 12th, 2027
Summer Camp: June 13th - August 27th, 2027
