Manufacturing Engineer Co-op Spring 2027

THIS IS A 6-MONTH CO-OP STARTING JANUARY 4, 2027 THROUGH JUNE 25TH, 2027. We are seeking a co-op to join our dynamic Research & Development team. This role supports the Life Science Biology franchise within MilliporeSigma. The MilliporeSigma facility in Indianapolis specializes in contract development, manufacturing, and fill-and-finish services for complex and sterile pharmaceutical products, particularly lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) and mRNA technologies.

Responsibilities: Evaluation of OEM documentation compared to physical on site spare parts availability. Sourcing of spare parts that are obsolete or hard to find. Recommended upgrades and retrofits of obsolete parts.

Communication between OEM and MSIG management. Implementation and qualification of upgraded/updated spare parts to improve sustainability. Development of downtime tracker pertaining to equipment.

Evaluation of non planned work orders and development of appropriate PM program based on historical data and/or OEM recommendations. Other equipment/facility reliability initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications : Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or Industrial Engineer from an ABET accredited school Basic understanding of drafting software (preferably AutoCAD or SolidWorks or ProE) Hands-on technical experience gained through previous internships, university machine shops, or applied engineering teams Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
