About the role
We are seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Dominican University student to conduct in-person market research with small businesses in the Little Village neighborhood. The canvasser will go door-to-door, engage with small business owners, and invite them to complete a brief 20–25 question survey on an iPad.
Qualifications:
- Current student at Dominican University
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Familiar with the Little Village neighborhood
- Comfortable walking door-to-door for several hours
- Friendly, confident, and able to engage professionally with small business owners
- Available to work 10–15 hours per week during October
- Basic technology proficiency, including use of an iPad or mobile device
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working independently
Responsibilities:
- Visit small businesses throughout Little Village
- Introduce the research project and explain the survey
- Encourage business owners to participate
- Assist participants with completing the survey on an iPad when needed
- Accurately record survey participation and follow research protocols
