As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern in the Medical Business Unit, you will gain hands-on experience supporting manufacturing processes that produce components for medical devices. You will work alongside engineers, operations, quality, and maintenance to:
- Support day-to-day manufacturing needs and help resolve production issues.
- Use structured problem-solving and data analysis to identify causes and recommend practical improvements.
- Contribute to tooling, fixtures, process improvement, and cross-functional projects that build manufacturing capability.
Responsibilities

- Support engineers and production teams with troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and follow-up.
- Collect, organize, and analyze manufacturing data to evaluate yield, process capability, cycle time, quality, and performance trends.
- Assist with the design, procurement, fabrication, testing, and documentation of tooling and fixtures.
- Help plan and execute engineering trials, process improvements, and updates to manufacturing instructions.
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and other functions, and present internship project results at the end of the assignment.
You’re the kind of person we are looking for if you:
- Have earned a high school diploma or GED.
- Are currently enrolled in a BA/BS program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field at an accredited college or university—or have equivalent experience. Gap-year students may also be considered.
- Bring relevant coursework, a hands-on project, student organization experience, or a prior internship that demonstrates curiosity and applied problem-solving.
- Are authorized to work in the U.S.
