Position Overview The Tool Maker Apprentice will work under the guidance of experienced toolmakers to learn the skills required to build, repair, and maintain precision plastic injection molds. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop a career in precision manufacturing and machining. The Apprentice supports day-to-day manufacturing and production activities while gaining hands-on experience in an operations environment.

The role focuses on learning standard production processes, safety practices, and quality requirements while contributing to operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities · Assist in the manufacturing, assembly, and repair of molds · Learn to read and interpret blueprints · Operate manual mills and surface grinders · Measure and inspect components using precision tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators) · Support troubleshooting and maintenance of existing tooling · Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment · Follow all safety protocols and company procedures · Participate in training programs and skill development activities · May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications · Enrollment in or completion of a vocational/technical program in machining, manufacturing, or a related field preferred · Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on work · Ability to read basic technical drawings · Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn · Good communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Skills · Exposure to machining processes (manual or CNC) · Familiarity with measuring tools and inspection methods · Basic understanding of metals and materials used in tooling Physical

Requirements · Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time · Ability to visually inspect detailed markings and part features · Manual dexterity to handle tools and small components · Ability to lift and move materials or components weighing up to 40 pound Work Environment This position operates in a precision manufacturing environment and requires adherence to all company safety policies and procedures. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
