About the role
Overview The Student Accounts Front Desk Cashier serves as the first point of contact for students, parents, faculty, staff, and visitors interacting with the Student Accounts Office. This position provides excellent customer service by answering phones, responding to emails, greeting visitors, and assisting with general office inquiries. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering outstanding customer service in a fast-paced university environment.
Pay Rate: $15.00/hour; approximately 25 hours per week For full consideration upload a resume and a list of at least three professional references. Auburn University at Montgomery reserves the right once interviewing has begun to stop accepting applications.
Responsibilities Greet students, parents, and visitors in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner. Answer incoming telephone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff member. Respond to emails and general correspondence regarding student account questions and office procedures.
Provide basic information regarding billing, payments, refunds, payment plans, and account balances. Assist students and parents with navigating university systems and locating account information. Maintain front desk operations and ensure reception area remains organized and welcoming.
Process incoming and outgoing mail and assist with filing and document management. Maintain confidentiality of student records in accordance with university policies and federal regulations. Assist with special projects.
May require extended periods of sitting, standing, and working at a computer.
Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain professionalism when interacting with students and parents. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively. Preferred Previous customer service, receptionist, or office experience. Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person, by phone, and through email.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Strong problem-solving and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
