About the role

Your Responsibilities

As a Part Time Student - Communication for John Deere World Headquarters located in Moline, IL, you will:

  • Develop and distribute org-wide digital product communications within defined templates (e.g. emails, PowerPoints, website announcements, videos, etc.)
  • Partner with Product Managers to create and update digital tool training content, facilitate efficient communication across product teams.
  • We are looking for a person who can effectively promote ideas and generate enthusiasm for digital products.

What Skills You Need

  • Ideally you will be pursuing a degree that Majors: Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies/Digital Media, Business Administration, English (willing to consider others)
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited University
  • Graduation date of December 2027 or later
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • Available to work 10-20 hours/week during the academic year
  • Available to work 35-40 hours/week during the summer semester
  • Must be able to commute to the work location in Moline,IL on a daily basis year-round
  • Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior standing students are preferred, Senior standing and those pursuing Advanced degrees may apply.

  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).

  • Previous experience in technical communications
  • Proficient in SharePoint
  • Experience with video creation and management tools (e.g. Synthesia, Panopto, Clipchamp)
  • Experience with graphic design (any tools; emphasis on principles of good visualizations over tools)
  • Experience with communication management software (e.g. Staffbase, SalesForce)
  • Ability to create engaging content for a variety of media (e.g. text, video, slide)
  • Attention to detail
  • Prefer candidate to have completed at least 2 semesters and have 4 or more semesters of college remaining.
