About the role

Your Responsibilities

As an **Electrical Systems Engineer Part-Time Student** for **John Deere Crop Care** located in **Silvis, IL**, you will perform technical work to aid in the design of complex electronic systems for Seeding and Tillage equipment that provide technology solutions that make our customers more efficient. In addition, you will:

  • Assist in electrical system module(s) for CI, PDP or Value Stream activities to meet customer requirements
  • Assist system engineers to ensure configurations/features are fully known and common requirements are developed
  • Assist in problem-solving and resolution of electrical issues on new product development and current production
  • Create electrical design specifications in document form for internal and supplier teams

What Skills You Need

  • Ideally, you will be pursuing a bachelor's degree in the following; Electrical/computer engineering, mechanical engineering, or computer science; others may apply.
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university
  • Graduation date of Spring 2027 or later
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • Available to work 10-20 or more hours/week during the academic year
  • Available to work 30-40 hours/week during the summer semester
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of electrical components
  • Strong customer focus
  • Excellent communication skills - must interface successfully with engineers, personnel of other disciplines, and suppliers
  • Familiarity with basic electrical systems design
  • Must be able to commute to the work location in Silvis, IL, on regular basis year-round
