About the role

Your Responsibilities

As a Part-Time Student for John Deere's Ecommerce team located in Chicago, IL, you will: Become a part of a professionals and diverse team working in a collaborative work environment that fosters creativity and innovation where people from all backgrounds get together to do their life’s best work. In this role, you will design, build and deliver software solutions following industry standards and practices.

In addition you will have an opportunity to:

  • Learn and leverage cutting edge technologies and technical practices
  • Create experiences for the customers at the core
  • Developing industry-leading ecommerce for the customer experiences
  • Improve your DevOps and engineering skills

What Skills You Need

  • Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering ; others may apply
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at an accredited university
  • Frontend development exposure in: React.js, TypeScript / JavaScript, HTML5 / CSS3 and Micro Frontends (Module Federation preferred)
  • Backend development exposure using: Java / Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices Architecture, Database – Postgres
  • Graduation date of Spring 2027 or later
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • Available to work approximately 10-20 hours/week onsite during the academic year
  • Available to work approximately 30-40 hours/week onsite during the summer
  • Available to commute to a JD work location in Chicago, IL, year-round
