Part-Time Student - Software Engineer UIUC - Champaign, IL

Your Responsibilities

As a Part Time Student for John Deere located in Champaign, IL you will:

• Define, implement, and maintain engineering pipelines & support tools for our Customer Data Products and/or Customer Data Hub
• Partner with stakeholders to discover and define business metrics
• Be an active stakeholder with business and engineering partners working on business insights, analytical dashboards, and customer/dealer facing applications
• Work with product managers, engineering leads, architects and other stakeholders to build shared knowledge and best practices

This position is not available to students on immigration visas

What Skills You Need

• Ideally, pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience in designing and building cloud-based data solutions and data pipelines with AWS and Databricks
• Experience in data solution development using Python and SQL
• Experience with collaborative code contribution and testing using Github
• Must be registered as a full-time student at a U.S/local accredited university/college
• Graduation date of Spring 2027 or later.
• Available to work during the academic year (16-20 hours weekly).
• Available to work during the summer semester (30-40 hours weekly).
• Must be registered as a full-time student at a U.S/local accredited university/college
• Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
• Must be able to commute to the work location in Champaign, IL. NOTE: Relocation assistance is not provided.

What Makes You Stand Out

• Experience in large-scale data processing using PySpark
• Experience with Agile style delivery environment and tools (Jira)
• Good communication skills, including the ability to lead meetings, document work for reproduction, effectively communicate risks and manage stakeholder expectations
• Ability to manage project schedules and delivery milestones
• Experience with surfacing data through GraphQL API (Apollo Federation)
• Experience with authorization/authentication methodologies (Oauth, JWT)
