About the role

Your Responsibilities

As a Part Time Student- Warehouse Health Engineer for JD Parts Distribution Center located in Milan, Illinois, you will:

  • Provide engineering support to various warehouse departments, regional distribution centers, operations, and engineering staff.
  • Support engineering projects to drive improvements in key business metrics.
  • Utilize data tools to analyze key warehouse processes, data, and metrics.
  • Design warehouse layouts for optimal material flow and density
  • Assist with new system and process integrations

This position is not available to students on immigration visas

What Skills You Need

  • Ideally you will be pursuing a STEM-related degree; others may apply
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university
  • Graduation date of May 2029 or later
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • Available to work 16-20 hours/week during the academic year
  • Available to work 35-40 hours/week during the summer semester
  • Must be able to commute to the work location on scheduled workdays

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Skill in using computer aided design and/or engineering tools such as AutoCAD or Minitab, Solidworks, Creo.
  • Knowledge of computer programming languages such as SQL and Python and reporting tools such as Tableau and PowerBI to analytically interpret data.
  • Experience using engineering tools, systems, and databases.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
  • Self-starter with high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Organizational and project management skills.
  • Effective communication skills working with a diverse group of stakeholders
