Duties and Responsibilities: Build product history profiles: Compile multi-year product history from internal systems, exports, and spreadsheets into consolidated working data sets. Document how products have been positioned, specified, and applied over time, and identify shifts in usage. Establish a consistent profile format that can be applied across multiple product lines.
Evaluate markets and competitive positioning: Research the markets served by each product line, including size, growth drivers, and customer segments. Assess competitive alternatives and identify where CCM products are strongly or weakly positioned. Summarize market trends and outside factors that influence product demand.
Develop situational models: Build scenario-based models that show how portfolio changes could affect volume, mix, and customer impact. Test assumptions and sensitivities, and clearly document the logic behind each model. Design the models to be reusable so they can be applied to additional product lines.
Review product and specification code bodies: Review applicable code bodies and specification listings for completeness and accuracy. Document gaps, inconsistencies, and obsolete entries, and recommend corrections. Build reporting tools: Develop Excel models, pivot tables, and dashboards that make the analysis usable for ongoing decision-making.
Create a repeatable process and documentation so the work can be refreshed after the internship ends. Summarize findings and present recommendations: Prepare written summaries and presentation materials for Product Management and Marketing leadership. Present final conclusions and recommendations to the project team at the close of the internship.
Support cross-functional coordination: Work with Product Management, Marketing, Technical Services, and Sales to validate data and resolve open questions. Qualification: Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Data Analytics, Economics, Construction Management, or a related field. Strong Microsoft Excel skills required, including pivot tables, lookups, and building models with large data sets; experience with Power BI, Power Query, or similar tools is a plus.
Comfortable working with imperfect data from multiple sources and reconciling discrepancies. Ability to think in scenarios: structure assumptions, test sensitivities, and explain trade-offs. Coursework in data analysis, statistics, business analytics, market research, or financial modeling preferred.
Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain findings clearly to a non-technical audience.
Self-directed and able to manage a project over a full semester with periodic check-ins. Additional Information: This is a Spring 2027 internship with an anticipated start date of January 2027, running through the end of the spring academic semester. The internship is located onsite in Carlisle, PA.
Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The scope covers multiple product lines; specific lines will be assigned at the start of the internship based on business priorities.
