Production Intern

Support the Production Department

Support the Production Department by preparing samples, swatches, and trim packages for fittings and contractor use, assisting with factory communications and shipments, and helping maintain an organized studio. The role involves hands-on tasks in the atelier and coordination with factories and PR, offering cross-departmental learning opportunities within the garment district. This internship is designed for current students seeking practical experience in fashion production.

Responsibilities

• Make swatches and apply them to cut tickets for contractors
• Prepare and steam samples for upcoming fittings, measure as needed
• Create and maintain trim packages, count buttons, fold sticker piles, and roll content label ribbon
• Prepare shipments and communicate with factories regarding duplicates
• Participate in production fittings and support atelier transfers to/from PR
• Research and source materials, trims, and fabrics for seasonal collections
• Support factory pick-ups and drop-offs around the garment district and assist managers in studio organization

Requirements

• Must be a current student
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Understanding of how to read patterns; basic hand sewing and machine sewing a plus
• Knowledge of woven and knitwear garment construction or strong desire to learn
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel; PLM database knowledge a plus
• Knowledge of the garment district and willingness to support local pick-ups/drop-offs
