About the Role
As a PMO Business Process Intern with the IO&E Research & Development Project Management Office, you will help document and standardize key PMO processes and create practical resources that help project teams work consistently and effectively.
You will work with PMO team members, project managers, functional partners, and subject matter experts to understand how processes are performed today, including the key steps, timing, roles and responsibilities, inputs, outputs, and tools used. You will turn what you learn into playbooks, templates, training materials, and selected technology-enabled solutions.
During the three-month internship, you will own one or more defined workstreams from discovery through delivery, with guidance from the PMO team. Examples may include documenting recurring financial-cycle or AOP processes, developing PMO resources, and exploring opportunities to use automation or AI to make established processes easier to execute.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Interview PMs, functional partners, and subject matter experts to understand established PMO processes and ways of working.
- Document and standardize processes, including the how, when, who, key inputs and outputs, and tools involved.

- Support PMO SharePoint and other business tools; use Excel, Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, or similar tools as appropriate.
- Explore opportunities to use automation and AI, including AI-enabled assistants or agents, to reduce manual work or improve access to information.
- Gather feedback, incorporate updates, and support implementation of completed PMO resources.
- Manage defined workstream activities, timelines, and deliverables and communicate progress to the PMO team.
