The R&D Intern will work on internal technical support projects to support Bunge operations and conduct testing (physical, chemical, sensory) and evaluation of products, processes to improve or investigate product quality, sensory attributes, and functionality. This intern will work with Bunge NA Oil ITS team to test and evaluate processes and products in the lab and factory including chemical, physical, sensorial and data measurement of products, and make recommendations for next phase improvements or root cause analysis for product and process improvements.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Love to problem solve, leveraging data and hands on learning in a laboratory or processing plant environment.
- Love to learn and willing to communicate, discuss and share thoughts with peer scientists, collaborative and like to work in a team environment.
- STEM knowledge in general, strong foundation and understanding of physics, chemistry and biochemistry.
Education & Experience:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
- Demonstrated interest in food, ingredient, laboratory, research, processing or product development environments through coursework, projects, or extracurricular activities.
- Travel ability/availability between Chicago area and St. Louis.
