Unit: The Respiratory Therapist program supports both new graduates and experienced professionals through a structured 12-month RT Residency Program, a defined Clinical Career Ladder, and flexible self-scheduling. The residency helps new therapists transition into professional practice through hands-on clinical experience, mentorship, ongoing education, critical care training, and advanced procedures.
Respiratory therapists can progress from RCP I through RCP IV, with opportunities for increased responsibilities, recognition, and compensation as they gain experience, earn advanced credentials, or pursue higher education. The program also emphasizes mentorship, collaboration, professional growth, and work-life balance. Schedule: Variable Schedule FTE: .1 Job Summary: Performs basic duties to support the Respiratory Care Staff in accordance with the hospital's objectives, policies and procedures.
The individual will have a mentor identified for resource and support. Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: Experience working in a patient care setting (hospital, nursing home) is preferred.
Inventory/stocking experience is preferred. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Current enrollment in an accredited Respiratory Therapy
Education Program is required. Student will remain in good standing. High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
TRAINING DESCRIPTION: Equipment processing and cleaning training, preferred. SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Organization/Time management. Good communication skills.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
