Our Camps

Staff-Led Overnight Camps:

At these camps, campers typically attend for one week, with some variability based on their program session, and are grouped by age and program into a “unit.” Each unit has two to three unit counselors who supervise campers and guide them to their activities, which are facilitated by program specialists. This is your traditional summer camp experience.

• Camp Robbinswold: Lilliwaup, WA. Located on the Hood Canal, Camp Robbinswold’s 570 acres include a mile of saltwater beachfront, six miles of trails, and a freshwater lake. Our programs at this property primarily focus on trip and travel opportunities including but not limited to sea kayaking, sailing, canoeing, backpacking, hiking, and watersports. Our waterfront is the hub of activity during the summer season, and it is the location of our swim area, boat ramp, and marine biology center. Camp Robbinswold is geared toward older campers (grades 6–12).
• Camp St. Albans: Allyn, WA. Camp St. Albans covers 414 wooded acres with over five miles of trails, all surrounding beautiful Lake Devereaux. The property is known for its unique Viking Boats and the gnomes that inhabit the camp. This property primarily focuses on traditional camp activities such as arts and crafts, archery, swimming, and boating. Campers can choose from a variety of creative programs including outdoor survival skills, space discovery, and construction.

Day Camp

We are excited for the return of Day Camp to Camp River Ranch! Day Camp will run Monday through Friday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM with staff hours starting as early as 7:00 AM and ending no later than 6:00 PM. Staff will be scheduled for a 40 hour work week and receive breaks throughout the day. Staff will have the opportunity to ride camp buses to and from camp and support the check-in and check-out processes at bus stops.

• Camp River Ranch: Carnation, WA. Located in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, Camp River Ranch spreads across 486 diverse acres with miles of trails to explore. The camp offers many traditional camp activities including swimming, canoeing, kayaking, archery, challenge course and a climbing wall. This camp is known for its iconic red barn located in the property’s central meadow.

Who are the campers?

We serve over 1,000 participants in our camp programs each summer in grades 2–12. Our campers include everyone who identifies with the Girl Scout experience, which includes cisgender girls, gender-expansive youth, transgender youth, non-binary youth, gender nonconforming youth, genderqueer youth, and any girl-identifying human. Our staff community is a reflection of the campers we serve!

What are the dates of employment?

Staff start the second or third week of June (dependent on position) and end the third week of August. Exact start/end dates are available on Paylocity.

What does the overall summer work schedule look like?

Employment begins with 2–3 weeks of paid staff training. Each camp offers seven sessions / weeks of campers, with sessions starting on Sunday afternoons and ending Friday afternoons. At the end of the summer, two days are allotted for “post-camp” in which we clean camp and have an end-of-season staff party.

What do daily breaks and weekend breaks look like?

• Daily Breaks: You will receive two hours off for each full work day, Monday–Thursday. During that time, you are free from activities with campers and may do your laundry (free for staff), connect with family, or nap.

• Weekend Breaks: Staff typically finish up on Fridays around 6:00 PM and start up again on Sunday mornings. Multi-week programs may have their weekend breaks scheduled at a different time than other staff to ensure campers have adequate supervision.

• On time off, staff are free to stay at camp and use the staff lounge (equipped with a full kitchen, showers, and WiFi), do laundry (free for staff), head into town, or go home as long as they relax and use their time wisely.

We strive to be flexible as we understand that life continues outside of work. We do ask for as much notice as possible when it comes to requesting time off so that we may have adequate time to help find coverage for your absence.
