SES Urban Agriculture Research Internship, Winter/Spring 2027

The Loyola University Chicago Urban Agriculture Program, part of the School of Environmental Sustainability, is recruiting student researchers to conduct research in the field of mycology during the period of December 2026 to May 2027. Eligible students can earn 3 credit hours for the Spring 2027 semester in ENVS 391 (Environmental Research), ENVS 491 (Environmental Research-Graduate level), ENVS 395 (Environmental Internship), or ENVS 395C (Environmental Research Capstone).

Research description: Students will be placed in teams and collaborate together on projects relevant to controlled environment agriculture, specifically edible mycology (mushroom production). The goal of the research program is to advance sustainability within food production, provide innovative solutions for scaled producers, and develop research skills and production experience for students. Student researchers will be placed on a team based on their interest and focus area.
