Social Work Intern

PMF gives individuals completing their BSW or MSW the opportunity to learn and practice social work while being mentored by a social worker. Students will learn to think critically about theories, connect theory and practice. Also, students will take the skills learned in the classroom and apply them in real world situations through projects, activities and tasks while interning at PMF.

Additionally, they will gain experience working with various communities, groups, and individuals, including those who have been historically excluded such as Black, LGBTQ+, and non-binary people. PMF social work interns will have opportunities to lead meetings, co-facilitate support groups, assist with writing grants, complete individual and community outreach and assessments, attend and plan events, and work to identify and connect PMF with external organizations that align with our mission and values to build capacity. PMF provides our interns with the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to build a successful future as a social worker.
