Solar Field Engineer Intern 1

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assists Field/Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Superintendents
  • Conducts safety audits and quality audits
  • Reads and understands drawings and specifications
  • Logs submittals and process RFI’s
  • Assists with surveying and project layout
  • Maintains and updates field drawings, field equipment and records
  • Assists with coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and field staff
  • Attends relevant project meetings
  • Prepares memos, letters, meeting minutes, contracts, and other forms and documents
  • Assists with project documentation requirements
  • Assists with estimating and soliciting subcontractors and/or suppliers for information and pricing
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a degree relevant to the construction industry (e.g. construction management, construction engineering, construction technology, etc.)
  • Desire to pursue a career in Solar/Renewable Energy and construction project management, field supervision, or estimating.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States and 18 years of age or older
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation to travel to and from the job site
  • Able to work full time from May to August at a project site where our construction projects are located (a monthly housing allowance will be provided to selected candidates who are working in an area different from their residence)
  • Able to navigate through a construction site on a daily basis, climb ladders and stairs
  • Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a criminal background check and substance abuse test conducted by a third party
